I wrote a song sometime back...
heres to the one i would love...

Part 1
You may have many choices
That i hear in your voices
You may seem to be confused
Resting in peace or a storm of delude...
You may have your reasons
Thinking about who might be the one...

Chorus
But as the darkest night stands there to see
The search you've begun, and the quest
Baby, I have a little request
Loose your heart to me...

Part 2
As days go by and you seem to wait
Wondering whose writing your fate
I watch you from my window
Falling for you high and low
And yet i know to this day
My heart yells out to say..

Rep Chorus
As the darkest night stands there to see

The search you've begun, and the quest
Baby, I have a little request
Loose your heart to me...

As the night falls in the
embrace of the stars and moon,
I stand alone thinking
am i cursed or living a boon.
Dazzled by the numerous bolts of thunder
I seek solace; a den without blunder.
I stand hugging the
remains of what i call me,
Counting stars on every
wish of what i could be...
Distant visions now fail my eyes
Subdues beneath the howls and sighs.
The night that passes makes me aware...
Of all the pain ... hurt and patience  i have to bear.
Don't want these stars
to embrace the night for long...
And to bid it adieu with a morning song.

The Unnamed

Have you ever wished upon a falling star?
And wanted to run behind or away from time,
Or change the present situation in what you are...
Have you dreamed with a rainbow appearing in the skies?
The colours that turn vibrant in your eyes,
Laying an end to all your sighs...
Have you ever tried counting the drops of rain?
Every pour a tinge of pain,
Lies and truth mixing in the same...
Have you ever looked straight at the moon ?
Wanting to subdue your agonies soon,
Ready to pounce out of your cocoon...

Have you felt the morning dews on your lips?

Have you tried to experience the eternal bliss?

Have you looked intent at the skies
that turn red with sunset ??
Have you tried risking your life over a petty bet?

Did you ride the reins of
the wildest untamed mammals?
Or remained unkempt yourself
 like a ferocious animal???
Did u smile with your favourite kid?
Did you know that
death and life are bottled up in a lid??

Did you know these words
were written at times...
While the world slept in peace...
 i suffered in mimes...

Chronicles of a father!

A pair of weary eyes...
An anticipating heart...
A man who was miles away from his home, country and people...
A night at Karachi that didn't seem to go on itself...

He strolled the deck at midnight. His anxiety had caused him to crave for a smoke, but rules and norms stopped him. He twisted his lips. He hadn't been able to sleep, thoughts of people, his wife merged his mind and didn't allow him to slip into slumber. It wasn't any unusual thing that he was miles away from home. His job at the navy kept him away from home for months together. Yet he never felt this way as he felt today...he was waiting...he was anxious. This anxious heart was not of a son or a husband...but of a would-be father, who was miles apart while better half was being blessed with what would complete their life.

"You have got a daughter ... she looks exactly like you" - his heart conceived peace. He knew he could never express the profound joy...and how he wanted to run faster and fastest just to lay eyes on what was 'his' , someone whom he had brought into the world.
His world...his daughter...

The first time he saw her, he dazzled. He was scared to hold her, but his eagerness to wrap her up in his arms soon did away with the fear. He looked into her deep black eyes and uttered, "Hey girl! Its me your Dad!". The little one smiled as though she'd communicate like she had with no other. he held her close to his chest and made a promise, a promise every father makes to his daughter.

The moment he lay his eyes upon her he knew he'd never love anyone more that he loved her that moment. He knew he'd never feel the rush of bloods in his hands the similar way, as when he he held her for the first time.
He had her...he had it all
She completed him inside and outside.

His job yet kept him away from home and her for longer periods. He wished just to sit by and watch her grow. He had been there for her first birthday. He had run like never before to order her first birthday cake, first party dress, first invitations, first birthday balloons, first year of her life. She beamed in a glittering green frock, dancing and walking away with a pride he felt in her eyes. "His Daughter".

Time flies by at a speed we dare not take notice. 1, 2, 3., 4.................23. Twenty three years just flew by hi, watching her grow. The process did seem that long...yet to him it was like yesterday. On the way he found her and knew her like he had known no one. The way she she cried when she was in pain, the way she threw tantrums when she wanted something, the way she came to him when she was hurt, the way she resembled him, his manners, his nature - he'd realise she was HIM. He knew he have no other...so he never had another child.

His life rested and revolved around her. It was her presence that made him quit his lucrative career and made him settle offshore. He would do anything and everything to see that tiny curved smile when he brought home her first watch when she passed her fifth grade, her first cycle, her first cell phone and new ones henceforth each year. He loved fighting with her. Their arguements and accusations lasted and till date they have not reclined nor they will. When she left home for futher studies, the silence at home killed him. He missed her. He fought constantly with himself and his wife for letting her go so far. He knew she wouldnt come back once she'd flown out of the nest.

He wanted to gobble up these 23 years and capture them in his fist. He wanted to lock her up in her room so that she would never have to face the ugly world outside. Yet he let her fly because once he was her age. He knew her complications. With a lump in his heart, he had decided to let her free . Those initial years while she stayed away from him
he wanted her to come back, and come back she did!

A cold morning at Howrah station...
A middle aged couple standing outside thier car...
Two anticipating hearts...

This time the only difference - the bird had found her way back home. She was flying back to her nest...back to HIM.

An ode to the Memoirs of KBS SCM classes!

Supply Chain Management...Venkatraman...Inventory...Transportations...you don't get the link ???  Don't you ?? Its kool...(neither do I)..we are sailing on the same boat. He sits on the table  crossed legs blabbering about graphs and numbers that never had anything to do with my life. Huge fluctuations and huge variety of products he talks about quite dissimilar to the thoughts and motions in my brains. phew!!  Did someone ever tell him how 90% kids here hate numbers (the rest 10% do not fall in normalities of daily lives we humans lead trying to make it simpler!) ;)
Didnt ever he have a professor who tried to shove knowledge up his ass and i guess (??!!) he just stuck it up on his pants never to let them down ( :P )
Ah i got distracted!! hes not that bad. At times being able to grab "my" attention...MY ATTENTION!!!
Navin's busy biting his nails...Munmun's busy dangling her thin legs...Amita's yawning hard...Sumit as usual the MOST responsive one!! Man look @ him.. hes a wearing a tie!! Now some would mind my audacity proclaiming " he's following rules...its good Kanchi"...but hold it brother!! I learnt something when i came here

                 YOU ARE A RIDICULE
                 IF YOU FOLLOW ANY RULE!!

In short it was a clear cut message to all folks out there (ruck the fules)!! So here's to you!!
Guess what ?? He's stopped complaining... I mean Venky...I guess he too has got accustomed to our lousy-good-for-nothing culture. The ease with which we walk into the classrooms with our "Chappals" and the manner we seem to seem to flaunt our presence and 'bless' the professors is simply awesome and astounding!(with the help of a few altruistic friends attendance is never a problem)
Now honey there's nothing to feel bad...we are just following and setting up new trends for our generations to follow. They in turn will break a few and make many new ones (interesting I hope)

Ps:So heres to the all the risk taking profs and students out there....  RUCK THE FULES!!

Park Street!!

As a kid i always dreamt of flying a plane...or sailing a ship (like dad)...or beating little children as their terrifying teacher...(my mom tells me i always told her i would become a police officer someday)...of all them i turned out to be a sales executive for cafe coffee day (the biggest coffee cafe chain in India). Now wondering as to how i landed here isn't a very long story...i got placed..,through campus recruitments...and where ?? Yeah right! Back to square one...all those extra terrestrial dreams of staying away from this city were tailored down by my yearning to come back to my authentic home town. Each time i wish to run away from its grasp...it pulls me back like the strongest magnet ever. No matter how far i am...no matter how unconscious i become...the city remains alive in my subconscious, inside me.
I enjoy my work...i like the roads that i take every day for my field trips. i love the essence of the day i knew i would be back (dint know it would be so soon)...i love the way the city hustles with life and helps me survive!I have been brought up at the outskirts...yet the heart of the city appeals to me more than my house...Park Street...theres something about it...i can never get enough.
While at Xavier's the 20 mins walk that i took down that street made me fall in love with the everlasting charm it leaves. Known as one of the oldest places in the city it stands apart with the presence of Moulin Rouge ... Trincas...The Park...the apeejay...the family book shop...the giggles...flurry's...T3 Table...and above all St Xavier's College (and a lot more than just these)...they made me come back each time i decided i wanted to go a place that could provide me solace...my comfort zone lay at that zone...i dont know what i could call this...its defninitely more then what i call "attachment".
Today three years down the line...the same roads lead me to a different world all together. I learn business...tactics...lies...and yet i remain the same Kanchi that walked down Park Street to attend the first lecture at 9 : 50 am. Today i walk these roads to a different destination...i take that road on purpose even though i need to walk that extra mile...i still do it ...not to loose weight...but to get the aroma of the street...just like the fresh cup of coffee i promise to everybody.
